Kicking the arse of 50

Today I’m heading to the KG Elite Strength & Conditioning Summit in Dublin

3 very interesting speaker’s are attending so I’m really looking forward to it. They have some serious CV’s as one is Mike Mc Gurn who you may have heard of and has worked with a lot of club Rugby teams as well as Ireland Rugby team and a few GAA county team’s and the other is Mick Clegg who was S&C coach at Man Utd when Alex Ferguson was manager.

So hopefully pick up a few thing’s and then late home tonight so no doubt tomorrow shall be a lazy day made up of the TV and playstation as I recover from this week’s shenanigans…

Anyhoo,

In one of last week’s classes in Enniskillen the guy’s we’re finding it tough going to which one of the member’s said:

“It’s alright for these young one’s, I’m kicking the arse of 50!”

The amount of people I get contact from who think their too old for our classes is serious… (Click here to read “Should I stop doing your classes”) 

I have had various PT clients over the years who I have had to practically drag kicking and screaming into the classes. And of course the one class I get them to go to has all people in their 20’s and 30’s so they think I’m full of BS (Click here to read about all shapes and sizes coming together)

But if you are a regular member with us you will know that we have people in their 50’s and 60’s and they get on the best. A lot of those people in their 60’s would put their son’s and daughter’s to shame and I know that for a fact because I have seen their son’s and daughter’s in action as well!

The oldest member of our classes has been 76 years young,

Yep, 76!

She did what we tell everyone to do. She did her best and did what she could and took an extra little breather when she needed it! (Click here for your too big and old to exercise)

Eventually she did quit as she felt it was a little too much and we did have to keep a good eye on her throughout

But the point was she still did it for a good 8 week’s and everyone in the class helped her along as she went!

While 76 might be pushing the boundaries a little if you haven’t spent your lifetime being active, definitely anyone in their 60’s is well fit to be in our classes and go at their own pace as they build themselves up.

So if you or a family member/ friend are in that category then maybe it’s time to give it a go!
