500 cals in 45 mins?

Last Wednesday I was taking the Boxing classes in Enniskillen

That evening 1 of our long term members commented on FB with:

I have been going to Dutchys for 2 years and 9 months. Today I plucked up the courage to go to my very first boxing class! Oh my goodness! I love it! Just burned nearly 500 cal in 45 mins. Keep trying new things people, cos if u don’t, u never know wot u cud be missing out on! Thanks Darragh

Now of course the amount of calories burned does vary between sessions and also on the individual and we don’t want to start obsessing about calories either (Click here to read about How Many Calories are you Burning?)

But it just goes to show that you don’t know what you don’t know

and that trying new things will always give you something to think about.

Anyone attending our sessions for any period of time should know that we won’t force anything on anybody but that we will give you a gentle nod in the right direction.

We have been trying to focus the boxing as a more Cardio blow out and think we should have the issue with the gloves sorted going forward

And also found another supplier of the mats so need to see if they do any work regards fixing or replacing them….

Not to get off topic!

I have mentioned before about the importance of mixing your training up! (Click here to find out why you should Mix It Up!)

Weight training and Gah will always be my main stays but it’s always good to try to mix it up with various methods of weight training in terms of reps, sets etc

Soccer is great for the more long distance cardio and swimming (very badly) helped for awhile when I did it but haven’t got back to that in a long time!

So while your Resistance Training & Cardio will be your mainstays what else can you do to mix things up?

Have you done Hill sprints in a long time?

Take up a sport?

When was the last time you went swimming?

I could pretty much guarantee you that if haven’t done any of these things in a long time then 4 weeks of doing them 1 to 2 times a week will mix things up for you for the better……

Give it a go and let me know how you get on!

Don’t forget,

Be sure to get your week off to the best possible start by getting the Monday workout done and setting yourself up for the week so you arn’t chasing your tail

Think Big And KickAss

We will promoting the 6 Week program at the end of each month for the start of the following month.

So if you want to get started then be sure to give me a shout.

A few people have been quizzing me on Platinum so remember that there is a free trial week where you can do the Monday and Wednesday session for free to check it out so be sure to try it out if you want to try it out.
