Colin likes his pints in pubs…

Updated: May 31, 2020

We ran a poll the other day and found out that 7 out of 10 people want to get back to the gym/ fitness classes…

Whilst only 3 out of 10 feel it wouldn’t be safe.

Granted, we didn’t get thousands of votes.

But of the over 100 votes we did get…

It’s clear that the guys and girls of Cavan & Dundalk want to get back to working out in a safe, socially distanced manner.

Our members have been saying the same thing when we have been chatting to a few via social media or email.

So is there a safe way to workout in a socially distanced way right now…

Or should you just stay working out at home?

Well, let’s just be clear about something – working out from home is 100% fine. It’s a great way to stay in shape in a safe way right now.

And we’ve plenty of clients who have got cracking results the past 12 weeks.

(Actually it’s gonna be hard to pick a winner this coming Sunday as we have a few in the running in our Transformation program that we ran)

However, it’s also very hard to motivate yourself (even if you’ve got Lorraine and me there to push you during the live workouts).

And now the government has given us the all-clear to workout in small groups outdoors…

I think we all know that long term, the gym atmosphere with all the necessary equipment and a trainer pushing you on is where you’re going to get results faster. you will be at your best.

Like I have always said, it’s the same reason I’ll keep playing football for as long as I can –

Competition simply pushes you on.

A lot of our members can’t wait to get back to training with us, as they miss the feeling of being pushed in a group environment.

Just like Colin said to me last week:

“I’m looking forward to you starting back as well and seeing some of the lads and ladies again.

You can exercise at home but it’s not the same! It’s kinda similar to going for a pint in the pub, or staying at home and drinking one by yourself!”

That’s the first time I’ve heard Dutchy’s being referred to as a pub…

But I guess it’s true!

So here’s the deal –

We’ll be back with in-person group workouts on Monday June the 8th.

The timetable will be very similar to what we had in both gyms before lockdown.

If you want to get going with outdoor workouts (and remember you will also get access to our home live workouts) then just reply here with “Outdoor” and I’ll get you all the info.

PS

We will be at the Cavan gym later today from 12 (midday obviously) to 1:00 bringing all the equipment from upstairs to the unit out the back for our outdoor workouts.

We are looking for a few members to help us out as there’s a lot of equipment that needs lifting so if you are free around that time we would really appreciate the extra help.
