How To Exercise In Your 50’s and Beyond!
It’s unfortunate that as we age we put a lot of limitations on ourselves.
Most of these are more mental than they are physical and when you understand some simple principles it will allow you to keep exercising and keep great health into your 50’s and beyond.
A few pointers to remember, in no particular order, are:
1 – Train Smarter – As you get older you may need to warm up a little longer and build yourself up to things.
You won’t be able to go straight into that sprint or stack the Barbell like some people half your age and get straight into it
2 – Keep it varied – Let’s face it, you don’t have time for boring and monotonous BS.
Get adventurous and don’t be afraid to try new things, variety is the spice of life after all.
3 – Less Room For Error – In your 20’s you could go out on the lash and still do a bit of a session the next day.
As you realised a long time ago it takes longer and longer to recover from these things.
Of course you can still enjoy yourself but just plan things out a little more to allow for recovery and that next workout.
All in all, there is no reason for not maintaining great health and being able to exercise in your 50’s and well beyond.
You just have to put a bit more thought into it and listen to any experts around you.
